NATO’s CV90 fighting vehicles will defend Ukraine - Ministry of Defense

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive CV90 infantry fighting vehicles from Sweden, which are in service with some NATO member states. Ukrainian crews are already completing training to master them.

The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense said this on its Telegram channel, Ukrinform reports.

“Some of the most modern infantry fighting vehicles will defend Ukraine. The Defense Forces of Ukraine will receive the CV90 IFVs. This will be another powerful assistance from the Swedish partners," the report says.

It is noted that CV90 fighting vehicles are in service with some NATO member states.

"We will, of course, continue supporting Ukraine as long as it takes. And we have a deeper understanding now of some of the operational needs you have. We have discussed some of the deliveries that Sweden is providing for Ukraine that, of course, include the CV90s. We are working on [supply of] the Archer systems on the tanks,” the Ukrainian ministry’s press service cited Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson as saying.

As reported by Ukrinform, Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson in January stated that Sweden would transfer about 50 CV90 IFVs to Ukraine.

The FH77 BW L52 Archer multi-purpose 155 mm self-propelled artillery system will arrive in Ukraine the summer.
