Ukraine can become leading country in development of military innovations – Fedorov

Ukraine can become a leading country in the development of innovations in the military industry, cybersecurity and protection of critical infrastructure facilities.

Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technologies - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said this on the air of the national news telethon, Ukrinform reports.  

“We will be the strongest in military-tech, that is, everything related to innovations in the military industry. Cybersecurity, any physical security related to innovation, and protection of critical infrastructure facilities will also evolve. A competency that is unique in the world is being introduced in Ukraine," Fedorov said.

According to him, there are many people studying in this direction in Ukraine today, therefore it is important to move from the IT industry that produces products for the world to the IT industry that produces products that are capitalized, work for the whole world and are worth billions of dollars.

"One of our tasks is to build a country where such products appear, so it is important to develop education that will allow us to scale our efforts and make a certain leap forward," Fedorov added.

As reported, the Ministry of Digital Transformation said that military-tech startups would be included in a separate section within the Ukrainian Startup Fund (USF), which will make it possible to increase their financing and consulting support for creating projects in accordance with NATO standards.
