Fiercest battles ongoing for Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka - General Staff

Throughout the day, Ukraine’s defense forces repelled 41 Russian assault attempts toward Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka.

That’s according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

"The enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka directions. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Marinka. Thanks to professional and coordinated action, Ukraine’s Defense Forces repelled 41 enemy attacks in the specified areas over the past day," the evening update reads.

Ukraine’s Air Force carried out nine strikes on enemy personnel and equipment clusters, and another one targeting the Russian anti-aircraft missile complex.

For their part, rocket and artillery forces hit two control points and a cluster.

On the same day, Ukrainian defenders shot down an enemy UAV of the "Orlan-10" type.

According to the General Staff, throughout the day, the Russian army hit the positions of Ukraine’s Defense Forces and civilian infrastructure of populated areas, carrying out seven air strikes and ten missile strikes and launching more than 15 salvos using MLR systems.

As noted by the Armed Forces, the enemy continues to widely employ S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles. The likelihood of more Russian strikes targeting the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Sivershchyna, and Slobozhanshchyna directions, the operational situation has undergone no significant changes as no signs were observed of an offensive grouping being formed.

The areas of Bleshny of Chernihiv region, Tovstoduby, Holynivske, Stukalivka, Volfyne, and Mayske of Sumy region, as well as Timofiivka, Krasne, Ustinivka, and Chorne of Kharkiv region came under enemy fire.

On the Kupiansk and Lyman axes, the Russians ran unsuccessful offensive operations in the Sinkivka and Bilohorivka areas.

Artillery strikes hit the areas near Kamianka, Kolodiazne, Krasne Pershe, Dvorichnya, Zapadne, and Kupyansk in Kharkiv region, Stelmakhivka, Nevske, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, as well as Terniv, Spirne, and Vyimka in Donetsk region.

Russian troops continue to storm the town of Bakhmut, which is held by Ukraine’s Defense Forces. Also, the enemy is conducting assault operations in the Ivanove district of Donetsk region.

Hryhorivka, Minkivka, Orihovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Bakhmut, Kurdyumivka, Ozaryanivka, Druzhba, and Mayorsk came under enemy fire.

In the Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, Russian invaders carried out offensive actions in the direction of Novokalynove, Stepove, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, and Marynka of Donetsk region, with no success.

The enemy used non-lethal aerosol tear gas grenades in the areas of Novokalynove, Lastochkine, Pervomaiske, and Maryinka.

More than ten settlements came under Russian fire on the Avdiivka and Maryinka axes. Among them are Krasnohorivka, Stepove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka of Donetsk region.

Vuhledar, Prechistivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Vremivka of Donetsk region were hit by Russian fire on the Shakhtarsk axis.

The Russians are on defensive on the Zaporizhia and Kherson axes. Vilne Pole, Novosilka and Novopil of Donetsk region, Poltavka, Malynyvka, Hulyaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya and Novodanilivka of Zaporizhia region, as well as Kherson and Antonivka of Kherson region came under enemy fire.

In addition, in Kherson region, the invaders carried out an airstrike on the civilian infrastructure in Beryslav.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russia’s death toll in Ukraine as of March 27 amounted to 171,160. Ukraine’s forces also destroyed 3,595 Russian tanks, 6,953 armored combat vehicles, 2,638 artillery systems, 2,216 drones, and hundreds of other enemy equipment units.
