War update: Ukraine Army launched 11 strikes on enemy positions

The relevant statement was made by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Russian troops are focusing efforts on conducting offensive actions in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions. The enemy continues attempts to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

Over the past day, Russian troops have launched 30 air strikes and eight missile strikes, namely on the city of Kramatorsk. As a result, a 3-storey residential building was hit, and casualties among civilians were reported.

Additionally, the enemy launched a missile strike on the Odesa region’s Zatoka. The missile fragments caused damage to a building of the children’s educational institution ‘Zolota Rybka’. Fortunately, civilians remained unharmed.

During the day, Russian invaders also opened fire with multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) over 33 times.

In the Bakhmut direction, Russian occupiers continue attempts to seize the city of Bakhmut. Ukrainian defenders repelled enemy attacks near such settlements as Yahidne, Khromove and Orikhovo-Vasylivka.

In the Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk directions, Russian troops conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards Kamianka, Nevelske, Novokalynove and Marinka.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, Russian troops were holding defense. The enemy opened fire on settlements situated close to the contact line, namely the Zaporizhzhia region’s Olhivske, Huliaipole, Bilohiria; the Kherson region’s Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Kachkarivka, Antonivka, and the city of Kherson.

In the Volyn, Polissia, Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directions, the situation remained rather unchanged. Russian troops continue hardening positions within the border areas of the Bryansk and Kursk regions. In the Belgorod region, Russian military units are conducting demonstrative actions to prevent the Ukrainian side from transferring forces to other directions.

In the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Russian occupiers tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian forces but had no success. The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions towards Bilohorivka.
