The advisor to the head of the President's Office, Mykhailo Podolyak, once again reacted to statements about the possibility of negotiations with the Russian Federation, emphasizing that the war must end only with Russia’s defeat.

As reported by Ukrinform, Podolyak touched upon the issue on Twitter.

"Do not get distracted talking about unrealistic plans: you cannot come to an agreement with RF. War must end only with its defeat. Therefore, paraphrasing Hemingway: ‘Greeting to arms!”. In required proportions of artillery, armored vehicles, drones and long-range missiles," the post says.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Head of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, in an oped for The Economist, stated that holding peace talks with Russia would be the last step towards peace, not the first one, as Russia must first fulfill other conditions, in particular, those announced by President Zelensky at the G19 summit.

According to the head of the President’s Office, it is absurd to call both sides to negotiate before Russia recognizes the very right of Ukraine to exist as a sovereign state.

On December 14, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will once again offer his mediation for a ceasefire in Ukraine within the framework of a trilateral summit with the participation of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.

The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency also stated that they saw no readiness on the part of the Russian authorities for serious negotiations with Ukraine.

The United States and other G7 nations support the peace plan put forward by President Zelensky.
