Russian troops strike Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, killing civilian

On October 4, Russian troops struck the liberated town of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, killing a person and seriously injuring another one.

"Police opened criminal proceedings over the attack on the de-occupied town of Vovchansk, Kharkiv region. Enemy shells hit an apartment block in the central part of the town. One person was killed, another one was injured and is in hospital’s intensive care unit now," Kharkiv Region Department of the National Police posted on Telegram.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As reported, Russian troops occupied Vovchansk on February 24. The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the town on September 11.
