Since the beginning of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, 41 children have been killed and 76 more have been injured.

"As of 12:00 on March 8, 2022, 41 children were killed and 76 more were injured since the beginning of invasion of Ukraine," Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova posted on Telegram.

Police in Dnipropetrovsk region evacuated another 300 people from Kharkiv.

"Among those rescued is a mother with three children who came under Russian artillery fire at night. One of her children was injured in the shock wave. Moreover, during a conversation with police, the woman said that a neighbor's child died in front of them," Denisova said.

In the town of Derhachi, Kharkiv region, during the shelling, the Russian army hit school No. 3 and residential areas of the town. At least three people were killed and 15 were injured, including a 4-year-old child.

This morning it became known about four more wounded civilians in Donetsk region, including a 14-year-old boy. It is still impossible to determine the number of killed and wounded in Mariupol and Volnovakha. These towns remain blocked by Russian troops.

"Once again, the occupiers fired on the civilian population of Mykolayiv. This time, the occupiers shelled the Balabanivka residential district in the southern part of the city with artillery: 60 houses were damaged. Most of the bombs were cluster munitions, banned by the 1949 Geneva Convention from using around the world," Denisova said.

In recent days, the Russian aggressor attacked about 30 secondary schools, 27 kindergartens, 5 higher education institutions, and orphanages in Kharkiv.

"The actions of the Russian-occupation forces are a direct violation of the Hague and Geneva Conventions. I urge the international community and international human rights organizations to take all possible measures to stop the military attack on the Russian Federation. I insist that NATO countries must close the sky [over Ukraine]," Denisova stressed.
