Austria to provide Ukraine with bulletproof vests - Ambassador Khymynets
Ambassador of Ukraine to Austria Vasyl Khymynets wrote on Facebook following a meeting with the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Ukrinform reports.
"I met with Federal Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer. I was assured that Austria was on Ukraine’s side and would continue to provide support and practical assistance to the courageous Ukrainian people. Among the latest decisions of the federal government: fuel assistance, helmets and bulletproof vests, humanitarian aid,” he wrote.
As Ukrinform reported, Federal Defense Minister of Austria Klaudia Tanner stated that Austria would provide Ukraine with defense equipment, including 10,000 helmets. In addition, Vienna will send 100,000 liters of fuel to Ukraine.
The Austrian government also decided to allocate another EUR 15 million in humanitarian aid that will be made available to the ICRC, UNHCR, UNICEF and Austrian non-governmental organizations in Ukraine.
