Ukrainian forces strike ammunition plant in occupied Alchevsk
Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck key facilities of the Russian aggressor overnight on March 20, including a plant in Alchevsk, located in temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region. Damage to an A-50 aircraft in Russia’s Novgorod region has also been confirmed.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“In particular, facilities of the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region were hit. The enterprise is involved in the production of artillery shell casings (casting and primary processing of large-caliber blanks), as well as in the production and repair of armored steel for the occupying army’s military equipment,” the statement reads.
Infrastructure at the Vostochny training ground (Novopetrivka, temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia region) was also struck.
The extent of the damage and enemy losses is being clarified.
The results of strikes carried out on March 17, 2026, against facilities of the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in Staraya Russa have also been confirmed.
“Additional confirmation has been received of damage to an A-50 long-range radar detection aircraft. It was located on the premises of the enterprise for maintenance and may have been awaiting modernization,” the General Staff emphasized.
As reported, Ukraine’s Defense Forces also struck the Aviastar aircraft manufacturing plant in the Ulyanovsk region and an aircraft repair plant in the Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
