Defense forces repel massive Russian assault in Lyman area
Soldiers of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave, together with neighboring units, repelled a massive Russian assault in the Lyman sector and destroyed 10 all-terrain vehicles, five motorcycles, and six armored vehicles.
According to Ukrinform, the Joint Forces Operation reported this on Facebook and released a video of the combat operations.
“In the Lyman direction, the 66th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince M. the Brave repelled a massive enemy attack—and did so without a single casualty on our side,” the Joint Forces Operation noted.
As the military noted, “the Russians chose the moment deliberately: deteriorating weather, over 50 motorcycles and ATVs, armored vehicles, and a large number of infantry. They were counting on a breakthrough. They were crushed.”
In coordination with units of the 3rd Army Corps and the 20th K-2 Unmanned Systems Brigade, 43 Russian invaders, six armored vehicles—BMP-3s and BTR-82s—10 ATVs, and five motorcycles were destroyed.
"Some of the Russians retreated even before reaching the line of contact—never daring to go further. Those who did dare—did not return.
Result: over 50 pieces of equipment and nearly 50 occupiers. Casualties on our side — zero," the Joint Forces Operation reported.
As reported by Ukrinform, fighters from the 3rd Special Operations Brigade “Spartan” of the National Guard of Ukraine, together with neighboring units, repelled a Russian assault in the Pokrovsk direction and destroyed a Russian company within 48 hours.
