IDF confirms death of IRGC spokesperson – media

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed the death of Ali Mohammad Naeini, spokesperson for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as a result of an Israeli airstrike in Iran.

According to Ukrinform, The Times of Israel reported this in an article.

IDF representatives said the strike was carried out overnight by the Israeli Air Force after receiving intelligence provided by the Military Intelligence Directorate.

The military stated that Naeini "served in several propaganda and public relations roles," and over the past two years had been the IRGC’s "main propagandist."

"In his role, Naini disseminated the regime’s terrorist propaganda to its proxies across the Middle East in order to influence and advance terror attacks against the State of Israel from the different fronts," the IDF said.

Iranian state media had earlier announced that Naeini was killed in the strike.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on February 28, the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on regime targets in Iran. Following that, Iran attacked U.S. bases in Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan.

Subsequently, the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) confirmed that Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, had been killed on the morning of February 28.
