In Bakhmut, border guards use mortars to break up attack by invaders
Mortar launchers and aerial reconnaissance men of one of the border guard units destroyed Russian invaders' cells in Bakhmut.
This is stated in the report of the State Border Guard Service, Ukrinform reports.
Ukrainian defenders identified the place where the mercenaries of the aggressor country were amassing using aerial surveillance. The enemy forces planned to launch an offensive in this area.
After waiting for a certain number of occupants to accumulate in the ruins, the border guards fired mortars at the area.
As a result of the fire, the enemy lost at least one assault group, approximately seven people were killed and four more were wounded, the statement said.
Having lost manpower, the enemy did not launch an attack in this direction.
As reported earlier, from 24 February 2022 to 22 May 2023, the Ukrainian Defence Forces eliminated about 203,880 Russian invaders, including 720 people over the past day.
