This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a telethon broadcast, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

He noted that an agreement worth £210 million had already been signed for fuel supplies for Ukrainian nuclear power plants from the British company Urenco.

“Also, today we are signing an agreement worth $300 million for Naftogaz from the U.S. Export-Import Bank, €90 million for Ukrenergo from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In addition, 28 agreements worth over €1 billion are being signed today by our state and private companies,” Shmyhal said.

According to him, this will be a significant result for supporting Ukraine’s energy sector ahead of the winter season.

The Minister added that an agreement with Dutch partners had also been signed to allocate €178 million for winter preparation. The package will include the purchase of gas turbines and transformers.

In addition, during the conference, Ukraine and the World Bank will present the concept of an updated Energy Strategy. Shmyhal stressed the need to create a foundation for building an energy system that will serve as a driver for economic recovery.

He also noted that the “energy Ramstein” format, which met the previous day, is becoming more systematic and expanding. Countries outside Europe, including South Korea, Japan, and the United States, have joined the initiative.

As reported, 20 countries, EU representatives, and six international organizations took part in discussions on Ukraine’s energy needs at the G7+ Energy Coordination Group meeting in Gdańsk. Partners announced at least €375 million in new funding for energy infrastructure recovery and additional contributions to the Energy Support Fund.
