Ukraine to receive $40M from World Bank for energy system recovery

In a post on Facebook, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported that Shmyhal and the World Bank's Managing Director of Operations, Anna Bjerde, agreed on continued support for Ukraine's energy sector.

Shmyhal wrote on X that the World Bank plans to allocate up to $40 million to Ukraine's state grid operator Ukrenergo for the purchase of critically important equipment needed to restore the energy system.

As reported, international partners have confirmed their intention to provide Ukraine with new assistance to overcome the energy crisis, including more than 6,000 pieces of energy equipment.

Ukraine has already received the first batch of energy equipment from Germany as part of the winter emergency support package.
