Eleven bomb shelters repaired at schools in Zaporizhzhia region over past six months
The update was shared via Telegram by Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Eleven shelters in educational institutions have been repaired, and six more are currently underway. Thanks to these efforts, over 8,000 children have resumed safe offline learning,” Fedorov stated.
He added that the shelter renovations were supported by UNICEF, which also provided generators, pipes, reagents, and other equipment to help maintain water supply in the region during emergency outages.
UNICEF—the United Nations Children’s Fund—is a global organization dedicated to protecting the rights and well-being of children worldwide.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, seven bomb shelters are currently being equipped at educational institutions in the Sumy community.
