Denmark to finance two new energy efficiency projects in Mykolaiv

The relevant statement was made by Mykolaiv City Council on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The Government of Denmark has made another contribution of DKK 338 million (about EUR 45.5 million) to the reconstruction of the Mykolaiv region. The corresponding agreement was signed by the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (Nefco) and the Danish Foreign Affairs Ministry during the fourth Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome,” the report states.

Through Nefco, the above sum will be directed to finance, in particular, three new projects. Two of them are being implemented in Mykolaiv.

This refers to installing three solar power plants to ensure uninterrupted power supply services, with a grant of EUR 7.2 million, and modernizing the city’s centralized heating system with individual heat transfer stations, totaling EUR 7.2 million.

A reminder that, at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Denmark took a special patronage of the city of Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region. Since 2022, the Danish side had been actively helping the city in different sectors.
