Slovakia to allocate EUR 84M for Ukrenergo infrastructure restoration

This was discussed during a meeting between Slovak government representatives and the leadership of NPC Ukrenergo, Ukrinform reports, referring to the energy company's Facebook page.

"Slovakia is prepared to allocate around EUR 84 million in loan and grant funding for the restoration and development of Ukrenergo's infrastructure," stated Oleh Pavlenko, Ukrenergo's Chief Investment Officer.

The funding will support key initiatives, including the construction of a new high-voltage transmission line in a region severely damaged by Russian shelling, the establishment of a new Ukrenergo substation, and the reconstruction of an existing one.

Pavlenko emphasized the significance of these projects, noting that their implementation will greatly enhance the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system.

The reconstruction of Ukraine's energy infrastructure, supported by Slovak partners, will be overseen by the Export-Import Bank of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation, with backing from the Slovak government.

As reported, the United Nations Development Programme facilitated the installation of over 450 MW of additional electricity generation across various regions of Ukraine.
