On Sunday, Ukraine’s national team won four silver medals in indoor rowing at the Invictus Games in Canada.

According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was the final sporting discipline in which medals were awarded at this year’s Invictus Games.

After a week of competition, Ukraine's team secured a total of 29 medals, including: four in indoor rowing, eight in swimming, one in sitting volleyball, and the rest in winter sports, which were included in the Games' program for the first time this year.

The closing ceremony will take place today at Vancouver’s central sports arena, with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other Canadian and international officials in attendance.

It is important to note that the Invictus Games do not maintain an official medal table, as the focus is on the rehabilitation of wounded service members rather than competition.

As previously reported, the Invictus Games took place in Vancouver from February 8. This competition is an international adaptive sports event for service members and veterans injured or wounded in duty, took place in Vancouver from February 8.

The first Invictus Games were held in London in 2014, and Ukraine first participated in 2017. This year, 35 Ukrainian athletes — all of whom have served in combat in the Russia-Ukraine war since 2014 — competed alongside over 550 injured service members from 23 countries.

Ukraine’s participation was organized by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, in partnership with the Ukrainian Veterans Fund, Stratcom Ukraine, the PJ Initiatives Center, and Invictus Games Ukraine. The effort aligns with First Lady Olena Zelenska’s National Strategy for creating a barrier-free environment.
