Ukraine’s Ministry of Youth and Sports deepening cooperation with European Commission
The meeting took place at the Avangard Sports Complex, partially destroyed by Russian missiles, reports Ukrinform.
During the meeting, the parties noted the importance of continuing close cooperation on youth and sports issues. This cooperation takes on increasing significance in light of Russia's unprovoked and unjustified war of aggression against Ukraine and its devastating consequences for the lives of millions of young Ukrainians and for the country's sport sector.
"We appreciate the agreement reached today with the European Commission on enabling Ukrainian youth and sports organizations to be initiators of institutional grants and grants for professional development through the Erasmus Plus program," Gutzeit emphasized.
He noted that for those who manage to receive these grants of up to EUR 200,000, it will be a great opportunity to share good practices and experience with European partners and strengthen capacity and resilience in the conditions of Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
"We look forward to developing joint approaches in the field of youth and sport to optimize our policy in accordance with European values and the status of a candidate for joining the EU," the minister emphasized.
