The Ring Magazine names Joshua vs. Usyk Event of the Year

The Ring Magazine has recognized the fight between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and Briton Anthony Joshua as the main event of the year in boxing.
According to The Ring's website, the runners-up were Canelo Alvarez vs. Billy Joe Saunders, Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3, Canelo Alvarez vs. Caleb Plant and Terence Crawford vs. Shawn Porter, Ukrinform reports.
Usyk and Joshua met on September 25 to fight for the IBF, WBA and WBO belts. The Ukrainian managed to defeat his opponent and become a world heavyweight champion.
There is a rematch clause in the contract between the boxers. The second fight between Usyk and Joshua is expected to take place in the spring of 2022.
