The Summer Youth Olympic Games can be held in Kyiv.

"First of all, now we are talking about the Youth Olympic Games. They require a smaller budget, less money, and it is not so difficult to conduct them as the adult Olympic Games... We are talking about Kyiv. Why not? There is a wonderful stadium, we just need to build more pools. Moreover, we have Spartak stadium, it could be expanded also. Everything is possible in Kyiv," Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Huttsait said in an interview with the Ukrayinska Pravda online media outlet, Ukrinform reports.

He believes that holding the Olympics in Ukraine will promote the development of sports, in particular, due to the construction of sports infrastructure facilities. In addition, according to Huttsait, more tourists will learn about Ukraine through the Olympic Games.

The minister added that President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach planned to arrive in Kyiv in September. During the visit, he will meet with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. "They will discuss the development of sports in Ukraine, the possibility of holding the Olympics," Huttsait said.

As reported, the 2020 Summer Olympics were held in Tokyo, Japan, from July 23 to August 8.

Ukraine national team won one gold, six silver, and twelve bronze medals.
