Kyiv reports 293 new coronavirus cases

Kyiv has confirmed 293 new coronavirus cases over the past day, bringing the total to 112,649, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

“Some 293 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in the capital over the past day. Seven people died. In total, 1,942 Kyiv residents have died from the coronavirus. The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has reached 112,649,” he wrote on Facebook.

According to Klitschko, among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 160 women aged 18-88 years; five girls aged 12-16 years; 116 men aged 20-83 years; and 12 boys aged between 8 days and 17 years. Also, 12 health workers fell ill with COVID-19 over the past day.

The mayor added that 34 patients had been hospitalized over the past day. At the same time, 40,053 Kyiv residents have recovered from the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, including 142 recoveries recorded over the past day.

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 1,069,517 coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine as of January 2, including 5,038 new COVID-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
