Poroshenko congratulates Ukrainian swimmers on winning medals at Invictus Games

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has congratulated Ukrainian swimmers, who have already won six medals at the Invictus Games in Sydney.

"Fantastic result of Ukrainian swimmers at the Invictus Games 2018 in Sydney: 4 silver and 2 bronze medals! Volodymyr Korol, Bohdan Oksentiuk, Viktor Shynkaruk like other boys and girls from Ukrainian team are the real pride of our country! Glory to Ukrainian soldiers! Glory to Ukraine!" the Head of State wrote on Facebook.

The athletes from 18 countries take part in the Invictus Games 2018 in Sydney on October 20-27.

The Invictus Games is the only international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women, created by Britain's Prince Harry, in which former armed services personnel and their associated veterans take part in sports including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, and indoor rowing. The Invictus Games use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation and generate a wider understanding and respect for wounded, injured and sick servicepersons.
