President Petro Poroshenko has said that the draft state budget for 2019 will envisage more funds to ensure proper conditions for the training of Ukrainian athletes.

He stated this at the meeting with the winners and prize-winners of the 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games and their coaches, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The state should also make its contribution and improve conditions for the training of Ukrainian Olympians. We will introduce certain changes in the draft budget, which is being prepared for the second reading in the Verkhovna Rada, so that our Olympians can have high-quality, world-class training at home, not only abroad," Poroshenko said.

As reported, on October 22, the Ukrainian athletes returned home from the Youth Olympic Games, hosted in Buenos Aires.

The Ukrainians won 23 medals: 7 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals in 13 sports.
