Nine veterans of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine started to prepare for the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon, which will be held in late October in Washington D.C.
"Nine of our ATO veterans started to prepare for the 43rd 43rd Marine Corps Marathon, which will be held in late October in Washington," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Twitter.
The guys train hard and persistently to demonstrate the best results, as zealously as they were protecting the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine in the east, Poroshenko added.
The President noted that the Marine Corps Marathon could be named a real "people's marathon", as the servicemen and women, veterans, families of the deceased and their friends from all over the world meet and run together.
