Thomas Grimm becomes new president of Ukrainian Premier League

Swiss lawyer Thomas Grimm was elected the new president of the Ukrainian Premier League at a reporting and election gathering of the organization at Kyiv's House of Football on Friday, April 6, according to Sport Arena.

The 58-year-old sports functionary received votes from ten UPL clubs, and two clubs abstained. Grimm assumes a four-year term of office and becomes the third UPL president after Vitaliy Danylov and Volodymyr Heninson.

Grimm was nominated by the Oleksandriya football club and was the only candidate in the UPL presidential election. In 2016, the Swiss was in charge of legal issues during the preparation of the Ukrainian national football team for the Euro 2016 European Football Championship.

In addition, Grimm served as president of Switzerland's Young Boys. In 2009, he was elected president of the Swiss Super League, which he headed for two years.
