Ukrainian Paralympians return home from Pyeongchang

Ukraine's Paralympic team returned home on March 20 from the XII Paralympic Winter Games, which took place in Pyeongchang (South Korea) from March 9 to March 18.

The Ukrainian delegation was met at Boryspil International Airport by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Family, Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism Artur Palatny, Youth and Sports Minister Ihor Zhdanov, representatives of NGOs, and fans, Ukrinform reports.

The Ukrainian national team won 22 medals at the 2018 Winter Olympics - seven gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals, finishing sixth in medal standings among 49 participating countries. 

While addressing the heroes of the 2018 Winter Paralympics, Groysman emphasized that the state would continue to fully support Ukrainian athletes with disabilities.
