Ukraine wins gold in mixed relay at IBU Open European Championships

Ukrainian biathlon players have taken gold medals in the mixed relay at the IBU Open European Championships in Ridnaun (Italy).
Yulia Zhuravok, Iryna Varvynets, Artem Pryma and Dmytro Pidruchny, using only six space rounds, finished first among 20 teams on Sunday, January 28, Ukrinform reports.
Ukrainians were 11.7 seconds ahead of Russians and 33.2 seconds ahead of Norwegians.
Ukraine's national team now has three medals of the IBU Open European Championships. Earlier, Varvynets won a gold medal in the sprint and a silver medal in the pursuit.
The next competition for Ukrainian biathlon athletes will be the Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Pyeongchang (South Korea) from February 9 to February 25.
