Ukraine seventh in Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest
KYIV, September 14 /UKRINFORM/. Ukraine has moved to the seventh position in the Wiki Loves Monuments international photo contest, Andriy Bondarenko, Contest Coordinator in Ukraine, member of the Board of Wikimedia Ukraine, told reporters on Thursday.
"229 participants from Ukraine have downloaded more than 5,000 photos of Ukrainian attractions. Ukraine is now seventh in the world after Spain, Poland, Germany, France, the U.S. and India," said Bondarenko.
According to the project coordinator, the majority of photos are the sights of Kyiv (480), Kharkiv (322) and Odesa (267). At the same time, Odesa region (410), Lviv region (346), Crimea (330) and Vinnytsia region (315) have the largest representation among the regions of Ukraine.
Overall, from 1 to 13 September, participants in the Wiki Loves Monuments contest have downloaded more than 100,000 images of cultural heritage.

Wiki Loves Sights is a Ukrainian part of the Wiki Loves Monuments international photo contest, whose goal is photographing and sending to free access images of historical and cultural heritage of the participating countries.
