Mobilization of women in Ukraine is not underway or being prepared – Rada National Security Committee
Ukrinform reported this, citing an official statement by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine press service.
“The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence officially states that there are no legislative initiatives, bills, or even internal discussions concerning the mobilization of women. Women in Ukraine join the Defense Forces exclusively on a voluntary basis,” the statement said.
The Verkhovna Rada also noted that statements by individual speakers publicly discussing the issue do not reflect actual legislative work or the position of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
The committee urged people not to fall for manipulation and to rely solely on official information sources.
On August 11, Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, said on Telegram that there were no plans to mobilize women in Ukraine or introduce changes concerning parents of three children.
