Government approves National Anti-Fraud Strategy to protect Ukraine's and EU's financial interests
Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers has approved the National Anti-Fraud Strategy aimed at protecting the financial interests of Ukraine and the European Union, along with an implementation plan covering the period through 2028.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Finance announced the decision.

"The Strategy defines the principles, priorities, and key directions of state policy for preventing, detecting, investigating, and addressing the consequences of fraud and other violations affecting the financial interests of Ukraine and the EU," the ministry said.

The Ministry of Finance emphasized that adopting the Strategy is an important step toward fulfilling Ukraine's obligations as a candidate for EU membership and ensuring the transparent use of international assistance.

The document clearly outlines the objectives and responsibilities of government agencies in combating fraud and corruption, preventing conflicts of interest and the double financing of projects, and addressing any other illegal activities that undermine the budgets of Ukraine and the EU.

The Strategy also places special emphasis on protecting and supporting whistleblowers – individuals who report fraud or other violations involving the use of EU funds.

The Ministry of Finance expects the initiative to establish a modern anti-fraud system in Ukraine that fully complies with EU standards.

The public will also have access to information on the results of efforts to combat financial abuse.

"The Strategy's implementation plan covers the period from 2026 to 2028. Its execution will help build a transparent system that ensures every hryvnia and every euro cent allocated for Ukraine's reconstruction and development is used for its intended purpose," the ministry concluded.
