The government plans to verify the cogeneration plants and generators available in the capital in order to use them as efficiently as possible.

This was announced on Telegram by Deputy Prime Minister for the Restoration of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba, Ukrinform reports.

“We have decided to create a working group to verify cogeneration plants, generators, and other equipment in order to get a realistic picture of each district and use available resources as efficiently as possible,” Kuleba said following a government meeting at which a decision was made to allocate UAH 2.56 billion for the purchase of high-power generators for community needs.

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the equipment will first be provided to housing and communal services in the frontline regions of Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Odesa regions.

However, if necessary, generators will also be sent to areas where there is currently an urgent need for backup power, particularly in Kyiv.
