Spain hosts international conference “Voice of Ukrainian Women Around World for Ukraine”

The World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organizations (WFUWO) held a two-day conference in Malaga, Spain. The event, themed “The Voice of Ukrainian Women Around the World for Ukraine: Advocacy, Truth, Unity,” brought together delegates from 20 countries.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the World Congress of Ukrainians (WCU).

The grand opening began with prayers and hymns from Ukraine and Spain. Among others, Yaroslava Khortyani, chairwoman of the WFUWO, Maria Finiv, second deputy chairwoman of the SFUZO, and honored Spanish guests delivered welcoming speeches.

WCU President Paul Grod also greeted the participants and emphasized the importance of global solidarity among Ukrainian women in supporting Ukraine and defending its interests on the international stage.

Among the speakers were WCU Vice President Nataliia Poshyvailo-Tauler and Chair of the WCU World Coordinating Council for Education and Training Liuba Liubchik.

Poshyvailo-Tauler was a speaker at the panel discussion “Advocating for Ukraine in the World: The Experience of the Ukrainian Women’s International Leadership Association in the Context of Contemporary Challenges,” while Liubchik moderated the panel discussion “Truth as a Weapon: The Ukrainian Women’s International Leadership Association’s Activities in Countering Disinformation.”

After the conference, the delegates and the Ukrainian community in Malaga gathered in the city's main square for a peaceful flash mob. The participants unfurled a large Ukrainian flag, declaring that “Our voice is for peace and for Ukraine.”

In May, the World Coordinating Educational Council of the World Congress of Ukrainians (WCU), in partnership with the World Federation of Ukrainian Women's Organizations (WFUWO), launched a series of educational lectures entitled “Debunking the Myths of Russian Propaganda.”
