Additional payments are provided for medical facilities in communities with low population density and located in combat zones, and new incentives for young doctors have been introduced.

This was announced on Facebook by Health Minister Viktor Liashko following the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, according to Ukrinform.

"One of the key issues was support for frontline regions. Additional payments for medical facilities operating in communities with low population density and combat zones: for primary care in villages and remote areas — a coefficient of 1.2 (20% more funding), for emergency care — coefficients ranging from 1.48 in areas of possible combat operations to 6.01 in areas of active combat operations," he wrote.

Liashko noted that the government had abolished reduction coefficients for primary care in combat zones, which, according to him, guarantees stable funding even in conditions of evacuation, shelling, and damaged infrastructure.

“New incentives have been introduced for young doctors. Those who sign a three-year contract to work in rural areas or frontline territories after their internship will receive a one-time payment of UAH 200,000. In addition, rural communities can provide official housing at the expense of the state budget,” the minister said.

He also spoke separately about medical, rehabilitation, and psychological assistance for those released from captivity.

“There is already a clear algorithm in place: from initial examination and comprehensive assessment to an individual treatment plan and the possibility of sanatorium rehabilitation. Assistance is provided by 80 institutions in 22 regions. All their employees undergo a special course at the NSZU Academy on the management of patients who have survived captivity and torture,” Liashko added.

The head of the Ministry of Health also reported on a meeting with the heads of medical institutions in the Zakarpattia region. The parties discussed the challenges of wartime and the implementation of government initiatives at the local level.

As reported by Ukrinform, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced an increase in doctors' salaries - they are to receive at least 35,000 hryvnias.
