Over 216,000 civilians remain in Ukraine-controlled areas of Donetsk region

More than 216,000 civilians, including over 15,000 children, currently reside in the areas of Donetsk region controlled by Ukrainian authorities.

This was reported by the Donetsk Regional Military Administration on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“216,000 civilians remain in the territory under Ukrainian control in the Donetsk region, including 15,830 children,” the statement reads.

Around 17,000 civilians, including 34 children, are living in 18 communities officially designated as active combat zones.

Over the past week, 1,830 residents—including 309 children—either evacuated or left the region independently. In seven settlements across four communities where mandatory evacuation of families with children is ongoing, 1,885 children still remain.

During the week, 194 children were evacuated from these communities.

As previously reported, Russian forces killed 11 civilians in the Donetsk region on September 3.
