American businesswoman, philanthropist, and writer Mitzi Perdue visited Bucha and Irpin in Kyiv region.

As Kyiv region police reported, Perdue talked to Bucha residents, police officer from Irpin Olena Mahliovana, and the wife of police captain Serhiy Blyzniuk, killed during the evacuation of the civilian population. Stories of the occupation of Kyiv region, testimonies about the crimes of the Russian army and the heroic resistance of Ukrainians form the basis of the book that Perdue is preparing.

"Every Sunday in the USA, meetings are held to collect aid for Ukraine, and I every time attend these events and talk about how the Ukrainian people are choosing freedom," the philanthropist noted.

She also told her fellow members of the American Agri-Women that she was building a safe shelter in Ukraine for women who suffered as a result of human trafficking and violence. "And American women were very inspired by the idea of making this space the best place for offended Ukrainian women," Mitzi Perdue said.

Members of the association donated embroidered paintings and also bought sewing machines for the shelter so that its residents would have something to do, she noted.

In Irpin, Mitzi Perdue visited the rebuilt police station together with the head of Kyiv region police, Andriy Nebytov. The writer saw with her own eyes how police officers perform their duties in new conditions.

In addition, Mitzi Perdue's visit to Kyiv region is linked with another charity mission – the benefactor handed over five modern boats for the water police of the region.

As reported, in 2022-2023, U.S. philanthropist Mitzi Perdue handed over 18 vehicles to Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
