Ukraine has lost 3.5 million jobs and more than 4.5 million people have left the country because of the war unleashed by Russia.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said this at a press conference in London, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost 3.5 million jobs. Almost 4.5 million people have become refugees, and about a million children have left Ukraine. We have conducted research, according to which about 85% would like to return to Ukraine after the war," Shmyhal said.

He emphasized that the main condition for citizens to return home is security. To do this, Ukraine needs to join NATO and strengthen its air defense. After the war, housing and schools in Ukraine will be built with certain security requirements in mind, the Prime Minister assured.

In addition, people will return when they can earn money in Ukraine, so jobs are needed. To this end, the government is supporting a number of programs for micro and small businesses, introducing grants and easy lending.

"We call on our partners to come to Ukraine and create jobs," the Prime Minister added.

As reported, Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized that it counts on the active participation of the private sector in post-war reconstruction.
