About 1,300 people already evacuated from flooded areas in Kherson region

In Kherson region, about 1,300 people have been evacuated from flooded areas after Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant (HPP).

The State Emergency Service reported this on its Telegram channel, according to Ukrinform.

"Currently, local authorities, together with rescuers and the National Police, are conducting evacuation measures in flooded areas. As of 15:00, about 1,300 people have been evacuated," the report says.

 According to preliminary data, 13 settlements on the right bank of the Dnipro River and more than 260 houses have been flooded.

Psychologists of the State Emergency Service are providing support to the population.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of June 6, the Russian forces blew up the Kakhovka HPP. According to Ukrhydroenergo, Ukraine's state hydro power generating company, the Kakhovka HPP cannot be restored. Local residents are being evacuated.
