The vast majority of Ukrainians would support Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO if a relevant referendum was held.

This is evidenced by the results of the nationwide public opinion poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) on December 13-16, 2021.

According to the poll, if a referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the EU was held, 67.1% of all respondents would vote in favour and 21.6% would vote against. The rest of respondents would not vote or are undecided (usually, these two categories of respondents eventually do not participate in referendums). Thus, 75.7% of potential participants in the referendum would support joining the EU.

If a referendum on Ukraine’s accession to NATO was held, 59.2% of all respondents would vote in favour and 28.1% would vote against. Thus, 67.8% of potential participants in the referendum would support joining NATO.

KIIS conducted the all-Ukrainian public opinion poll using computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. A total of 1,203 respondents aged 18 years and older living in all regions of Ukraine (except the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and certain districts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions) were interviewed.
