Over 17M COVID-19 vaccine doses given in Ukraine

More than 17 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Ukraine since the start of the vaccination campaign, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine has announced on Facebook.

"Some 9,790,280 people have been vaccinated since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, with 9,790,278 of them receiving their first dose, and 7,292,521 people being fully immunized and receiving both doses (two of them received their first dose abroad). A total of 17,082,799 doses have been administered," the report reads.

According to the ministry, 289,241 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on October 28, with 214,103 people receiving their first dose and 75,138 people receiving both doses.

According to the report, 94% of those hospitalized with COVID-19 last week were not vaccinated.

Some 26,870 new COVID-19 cases were registered in Ukraine on October 28.
