Over 27M people crossed Ukrainian border since year-start

In January-September 2021, 27.2 million people crossed the state border of Ukraine, both in the entry and exit directions, according to the State Border Guard Service.

It is noted that of these citizens, 21.1 million people were Ukrainians and 6.1 million were foreign nationals.

This figure, compared to last year, rose by 14%. In the first nine months of last year, 23.5 million people crossed the Ukrainian border.

"The largest number of the state border crossings was recorded at airport checkpoints - 10.8 million people. This is almost 45% more than last year," reads the report.

The second, in terms of the number of crossings, was the border with Poland, which was crossed by 6.4 million citizens, including 5.8 million Ukrainians and about 615,000 foreigners. The border with Hungary and Russia took third place.

As Ukrinform reported, this year's tourist season rates have significantly improved compared to last year. The passenger traffic grew by 25%.
