Over 159,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses given in Ukraine on Sep 24

Over 159,000 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine on September 22, the Ukrainian Health Ministry has reported on Facebook.

"As many as 159,004 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, on September 24, 2021. Some 96,885 people received their first dose, and 62,119 people were fully vaccinated," the report reads.

According to the ministry, 966 mobile vaccination teams, 2,977 vaccination sites, and 345 vaccination centers were operating across the country in the past day.

A total of 12,138,989 doses have been administered in Ukraine since it launched the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, with 6,720,913 people receiving their first dose and 5,418,078 people receiving both doses (two people received their first dose abroad).

Some 8,267 new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Ukraine on September 24.
