Ukraine gets 650,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from Poland

Ukraine has received 650,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from Poland, according to Health Minister Viktor Liashko.

“I would like to thank the Polish government and President Andrzej Duda for the support and humanitarian assistance provided to our country in the fight against COVID-19. Some 650,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine have already been delivered to the regions,” Liashko wrote on Facebook on August 24.

According to him, personal protective equipment, ventilators, oxygen concentrators and heart monitors will also be delivered to medical institutions in the coming days. “I believe that by joint efforts we will gain independence from the pandemic all over the world,” the minister added.

On August 24, Ukraine recorded 727 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 2,276,590.
