On August 10, the exhibition "She is science" opened at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to highlight 12 outstanding Ukrainian women scientists.

As an Ukrinform correspondent reported, "She is science" is an educational art project organized by STEM is FEM with the support of UN Women in Ukraine and the United Nations Children's Fund in Ukraine (UNICEF).

The project authors tell about 12 Ukrainian women scientists of the 20th and 21st centuries. The exhibition consists of installations depicting the essays of the winners of the all-Ukrainian essay contest "She is science" and portraits of scientists described in the essays. Among them: author of the world's first programming language Kateryna Yushchenko, neuromorphologist Halyna Skybko, mathematician Maryna Vyazovska, and others.

The project is part of the UN Women of the Generation Equality campaign to promote gender parity among young people and ensure women's leadership in technology and innovation.

"The exhibition was created specifically to raise awareness about famous Ukrainian women. And I am very happy that the UN Women together with STEM is FEM already implemented this project at the national level. Now our goal is to implement this project at the international level," said First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar at the exhibition opening.

STEM is FEM project aims to encourage as many girls as possible to choose a technology-related specialty for studying.
