Kyiv authorities say 1,007,513 vaccinations for COVID-19 have been administered since the start of the inoculation campaign, including 25,388 over the past 24 hours.

That’s according to Mykola Povoroznyk, First Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Ukrinform reports referring to Kyiv’s Official Portal.

"Kyiv is the country’s undisputed leader in terms of vaccination. Today in the capital more than 634,600 persons received their first dose and over 372,900 citizens got their second one. We make every effort to reach as many people as possible with vaccinations. The city has created all conditions for everyone to be able to get vaccinated. All vaccination centers have vaccines available. So today, capital residents are offered CoronaVac/Sinovac Biotech and Moderna (mRNA-1273) for the first dose, while AstraZeneca, CoronaVac/Sinovac Biotech, and Cominarty/Pfizer-BioNTech are offered for revaccination," said Povoroznyk.

He reminded that residents are able to get their second shot by contacting their family doctor, checking with the registry office of the medical facility or registering at the helsi.me online platform.

"If you are denied revaccination with the drug with which you were initially vaccinated, immediately contact the head of the medical facility. If this doesn’t solve the issue, contact the Health Department hotline at 044-278-41-91. To address the issue, you need to report to the officer on duty the name of the facility in question, name of its chief, and your contact details,” Povoroznyk explained.

The Kyiv City State Administration reminded that 22 mass vaccination centers offer their services in Kyiv, including the COVID-19 Vaccination Center, housed by the International Exhibition Center, as well as 21 mini-vaccination centers located in each district, operating throughout weekends. In addition, vaccinations can be administered in vaccination rooms at primary care facilities.

As reported earlier, on August 9 Ukraine recorded 781 new confirmed COVID-19 cases (including 37 children and 28 medics).
