The issue of a third COVID-19 vaccine dose will be considered if there are evidence-based recommendations.

"The recommendation for a third, booster dose is not currently an official recommendation from a manufacturer. We regard it as such that has not undergone trials. We have no evidence that the third dose of Pfizer or another vaccine may be more effective. This issue is being considered and no decision has been made. If these data are evidence-based, and recommendations are accepted, we will consider this issue. Meanwhile, we map out full revaccination in a year after the basic campaign," Deputy Health Minister, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Ihor Kuzin said on the air of Ukrainian Radio, Ukrinform reports.

As of August 5, more than 6 million COVID-19 shots were given in Ukraine. On August 4, 2021, 159,121 people were vaccinated against COVID-19.
