Germany will help Ukraine fight coronavirus, in particular, by donating 1.5 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Berlin on July 12, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I am glad that we can promise Ukraine 1.5 million doses of vaccine to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first step,” Merkel said.

The two leaders also discussed reforms in Ukraine, the Minsk process, and gas transit in the context of the Nord Stream 2 project.

Zelensky was on a working visit to Germany on July 11-12.
