EU may recognize Ukrainian vaccination certificates by end of summer - Digital Transformation Ministry

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine expects that Ukraine and the European Union will mutually recognize COVID-19 vaccination certificates by the end of this summer.

First Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Oleksiy Vyskub said this in his speech at the European Business Association IT Week, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As to COVID certificates, the European Union is moving a little faster, so this is definitely a topical issue worldwide. We expect that, according to optimistic forecasts, mutual recognition will take place by the end of this summer,” Vyskub said.

He added that the ministry expects that mutual recognition of digital signatures will also take place this autumn.

As Ukrinform reported, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that from July 1, Ukraine would introduce electronic certificates that will prove that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19. The certificate will be both in paper and electronic form.
