Official events on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day will last for three days this year. Up to 30 foreign delegations are expected to arrive in Kyiv.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday, May 20, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In particular, a parade dedicated to Independence Day of Ukraine will take place on August 24, and the Crimean Platform summit will be held on August 23.

"About 30 countries will be represented at the 30th anniversary," the president said.

The Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the efficiency of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, step up international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the de-occupation of Crimea.

The first Crimean Platform summit is scheduled for August 23, 2021.
