ICRC delivers another 120 t of humanitarian cargo to occupied territories of eastern Ukraine

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has delivered another 120.96 tonnes of humanitarian cargo to the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

"Today, April 19, 2021, six trucks delivered humanitarian cargo weighing 120.96 tonnes to the Russian-occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. It was transferred from all member states of the Geneva Conventions that contribute to the global budget of the International Committee of the Red Cross," reads the report.

Thus, six trucks carrying humanitarian aid, namely food packages, crossed the Novotroitske checkpoint. In addition, another truck with humanitarian aid weighing 2.732 tonnes crossed the Shchastia checkpoint on Friday, April 16.

The president’s spokesperson, Iuliia Mendel, earlier reported that in 2020 international organizations sent 76 convoys with humanitarian aid to the occupied territories of eastern Ukraine, while Russia sent only five convoys.
